The Hilfiger Fun Fair

From the Football Field to the Beach, Tommy Hilfiger never fails to create a spectacle and this year has been no different. 

The new setting for Hilfigers' Fall 2016 collection was 'a full-blown carnival with rides, temporary tattoo booths, and cotton candy machines.' This to me is the best so-far because if anyone knows me, I am always the first on any ride and I love the fun childish atmosphere that can take you into a magical world. Also no one can say that they're not having a great time at a Carnival. 


Not only was the setting wonderful, but the collection itself represented the movement of runway to ready-to-wear in an instant as the collection was immediately stoppable at the show through digital touchscreen, live-streams and social media channels. This movement along with the collaboration with Gigi Hadid showcased that the brand is moving towards the digital savvy age of its customers along with creating a collection that many people now feel that they can relate and can therefore have a touch of designer straight from the catwalk rather than in six months time. The TOMMYNOW collection had the usual Hilfiger underlying theme of nautical, but 'from there, the collection continued in high pitch with styles ranging from statement bomber jackets, loose jeans teamed with hybrids of gym an swimwear, cropped tops, fluid floaty silk georgette pieces to Hilfiger classics of cozy track pants teamed with oversized hoodies, logo tees and thigh high 'stockings'.'


Personally this is my favourite collection that has featured at NYFW as it has incorporated so many different elements to create an amazing integrated show. 
The location stood out for not being the typical in a building in the middle on Manhattan.
The on-trend sport-luxe combined with Hilfigers' go-to nautical themes.
The excitement with the launch of Gigi Hadids' collection who truly represents the brand whilst still putting her own twist on the Tommy classics.
The ready-to-wear element within the show not just being accessible to those attending but through digital platforms too. 
The fun factor at this Hilfiger show is contagious.

Overall TOMMYNOW X Gigi Hadid has impressed me, not only for the collection itself but the fun and laid back experience they have been able to give people both at the event and through the digital stratosphere.
