Baggage Claim Game
10:30 amWith a little over 100 days until I jet off on my summer travels I decided to throw it back to one of my favourite travel inspired campaigns - The Zappos Baggage Claim Game.
Think back to the last time you travelled. Normally you fly out to an exciting location and all you want is to get out of the stuffy airport. Or your flying home and you're filled with dread about having return back to normality. Either option, that fun game that other travellers seem to play of who can get closest to the baggage carousel, makes this final stop on the travel leg quite unbearable.
This is where Zappos stepped in.
'In the Northeast, weather made it even more difficult and stressful. According to USA Today, nearly 700 flights were cancelled on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving). In order to bring a little humanity and happiness to the holidays, JetBlue and Zappos created a special day of thanks at New York's JFK airport.'**
The Wheel of Fortune style game in Arrivals stayed, but the activation was taken even further.'In departures, a cheering section helped travelers make it through security and prep them for their upcoming flight. Both brands pulled stories from pre-security and relayed them to the cheering section. Zappos and JetBlue staff made handmade signs, greeting passengers with personalized cheers as they walked out of security. '**
Both activations brought smiles to travellers and also created a better emotion surrounding the baggage claim and airport experience, along with the brands themselves.
