Back in October, British Airways announced they would be beginning flights to New Orleans from 27th March 2017. However they weren't just going to sit back and wait until March to get us all excited about what we could expect on the flight itself and the The Big Easy City. British Airways' flew out a star-studded charter flight to New Orleans’ for the World Famous Mardi Gras Festival and I am so jealous of everyone who was on board.

'With 180 VIP guests on board, they were treated to performances from Nicole Scherzinger and YolanDa Brown. Mixologists from NOLA Group in London were also on board, shaking and stirring Louisiana inspired cocktails and bringing a taste of the Deep South to those on board.
The flight was compered by Jazz FM DJ, Nigel Williams, also showcased the talents of Cherise Adams-Burnett, 21, from Luton, 25-year-old Jamie Brownfield, from Powys in Wales, and 21-year-old Londoner Quinn Oulton, who won the airline’s busking competition that was judged by Grammy winning singer, songwriter and pianist, Jon Cleary, and double MOBO award-winning saxophonist, YolanDa Brown.' But come on, Nicole Sherzinger and Cocktails - how amazing would it have been on that flight.
Check out some behind the scenes below

Making flights themed for specific events and making the experience so much more than sitting on a long-haul flight is such a great concept. It will get you straight into the holiday spirit with themed food and drinks and creates such a buzz around a travel method we have all been using for many years. I know that this wouldn't work for everyone and is quite excessive for every type of flight but even if the food and drinks menu's and maybe even the in-flight entertainment were adapted to fit the destination, it could create a similar excitement buzz. Well it definitely would for me. Could you imagine flying to somewhere like New York with a Bagels, Cosmopolitans and a box set of Gossip Girl - sounds perfect doesn't it.
