Burberry

Today we had a great opportunity to listen to a guest speaker from Burberry. I found this opportunity very interesting not only to have an understanding of the brand but also about his personal experience and what he advises us to do.
He heavily advised to stick true to yourself and use your own personal interests within your work as you will be more interested in that specific topic than something else. He also suggested that you must always take risks such as going into designer shops and asking to have your work out or if they will work with you for a project, you have to think around the obvious.
He also went through a couple of the campaigns that Burberry have recently have been involved in that have made the brand stand out and regain their heritage popularity.

I particularly liked the idea of this runway show as it collaborated with apple and shot everything for the shot with the iphone 5S before launch. This meant it linked the digital savvy to the brand as well as the typical consumers. Burberry have been very informed with using digital media and were the first British and first luxury brand to be on Facebook.
The other show that really impressed me was the holographic show in Beijing. It was completely different and caused awe not only in the room on the night but to all those who watched after. The show was stunning and the concept was original and risky but it paid off.
The Burberry kisses campaign also shows how the brand are digital aware by using something that represents the brand as well as collaborating with a huge global brand, google. I really liked the idea of using your own personal kiss as this allows the consumer to have more involvement in brand movement.
