Ticket Books

Many of us have had to either commute to work on a cramped train or tube, and if you haven't you know what it normally involves. But what this experience can give you is time to get your head into a good old book.

It was discovered that Brazilians read only two books a year on average. So on World Book Day (23rd April 2016) L&PM Pocket introduced the Ticket Books (a collection of pocket books that work as subway tickets), to the public to encourage more people to get reading.
Novels with built in RFID tags and adapted subway inspired covers allowed travellers to take 10 free trips. After this the books could then be recharged and even past on to friends to keep inspiring commuters to carry on reading and make it into a habit.

I loved this concept! I know how annoying it can be having to get so many things in and out of your bag when you're travelling and the introduction of Ticket Books not only allowed you to engage with a book but it was made simple and faff free, which therefore creates a positive memory around the experience of reading. I think a similar concept would be great for a book launch, an event or even a secret ticket to a book to film release. The options are endless but still unique.
