Another day trip to London, but this time with Uni and there was a purpose to research for our brand projects. Before the trip we planned exactly where we wanted to go so that when we got there we wouldn't be standing around doing nothing. 
Our brand we were researching was Diane Von Furstenburg. Initially we were unaware of this designer as a a group so thought it would be interesting to completely research a brand as we had no pre-concept of it. We decided to visit Harrods and Selfridges as well as her own retail store in Mayfair, where we were planning on conducting an interview with the store manager so we could get a first hand insight into the brand. 
Selfridges and Harrods were very unhelpful and had no knowledge of the brand, or they did and just didn't want to talk to us. Where as the flagship store was really helpful, we conducted our interview and gained knowledge about the brand, consumer, visual merchandising, recent product introduction and possible future products. They also let us take as many photos as we wanted as well as panorama videos of the store which will be really helpful for our final brand presentation to give it an edge to others. 
I really enjoyed the trip (apart from the 5 hour travelling there due to traffic) and I gained a better knowledge of the brand allowing me to be able to progress with my own research with a better picture in my head on how to represent the best of the brand.
